  11. I am having a problem with a system running dr dos v6.0 and the
  12. version of stor that comes with it. Specifically, at apparently
  13. random intervals, upon bootup, the system will deliver the following
  14. message:
  15. Cannot load file
  16. Press a key to retry
  17.  
  18. NOTHING in the dconfig.sys is run (originally I thought that perhaps
  19. the first item in dconfig.sys was generating the error so I put in an
  20. echo statement as the first line of the dconfig, when the above
  21. error occurs, the line is NOT displayed) and the system will sit
  22. until a key is pressed. In most cases pressing the key once causes
  23. the system to reboot and everything is fine. In some cases you will
  24. get the error again but in ALL cases after you have rebooted a
  25. couple of times the system will work, without any apparent problems.
  26. The only 'funny' thing we can find is that chkdsk tends to give
  27. REALLY bad estimates. I know it uses a 2:1 estimate but it does
  28. things like say we have 7 megs of free space when we only have 100k.
  29. Because the system is running dr dos's stor I suspect that is the
  30. root of the problem. Does anyone know anything about this error and
  31. can provide additional information?
