  12. Does anyone have any experience with the parallel network driver in
  13. Mach 3.0 (kernel/i386at/if_par.[ch]) ? I'm considering porting it to
  14. BSD/386 and was wondering what kind of performance I could expect?

  16. I'm trying to figure out how to connect a laptop to an existing network,
  17. other than with SLIP.  It seems the parallel-to-Ethernet people (Xircom)
  18. refuse to let out the information on how to write a driver for their
  19. hardware, so using the ubiquitous parallel port as a point-to-point link
  20. seems the best way to go.  Are most 386 parallel ports bidirectional so
  21. that they would support this usage?  Thanks,
