- Is there such a thing as a full-blown Mach "Unix" system for the 386/486
- platforms? From the FAQs at CMU, it would appear there is: Mt. Xinu's.
- However, I was wondering if there was something ftp-able. From what I have
- been able to gather, from CMU you can ftp the kernel -- and that's it.
- Ok, then what do I do? The kernel is in source form. I have to compile it,
- presumably, it's compatible with the Microsoft compilers. [I do not have
- direct Internet access to use the so-called RPC installation.] Then I have to
- get a filesystem, cc, utilities, etc. going. What's the course of action
- for this? Do I simply ftp to uunet, grab all the BSD Net2 sources and then
- compile them to interface with the Mach microkernel, or is there a more
- viable solution?
-
- Thanks,
-
