- Hi y'all-
- I have a problem with twm running under 0.97pl2 and X386 (-er- XFree86)
- v1.1.
- The Hardware: Gateway 2000 486/50, ATI Graphics Ultra 8MB RAM.
- The Software: 0.97pl2 kernel, changedd to 16pty's (pty's created
- by kernel recompile and MAKEDEV script on 0.97.1 rootdisk), X386v1.1,
- XLinux8514. The only change I have made to the X distrib. is to change
- the mouse entry in XConfig to ttys1 (I copied over the XConfig from the 8514
- distribution, of course :)
- The Problem: X works fine, I get the clock and XTerm, but when I
- try to restart twm or exit twm, first twm dies (window border and titles go
- away), and then the machine hangs (C-A-Bksp doesn't work, commands to make the
- disk work aren't accepted). When I used 'startx 2> x.errors', the x.errors
- file says: "xinit: connection to X server lost"
- I can exit X using C-A-Bksp (before I try to kill twm from the menu),
- or by 'kill'ing the X server or twm (not very polite...).
- What's happening?
- Many thanks (for the help, for the OS, for tsx-11, &c)-
