  12. I got startx to run and give me information about the video card.  The message
  13. reported to me was:

  15.     VGA256: et3000 (mem 512k clocks: 25 28 48 41 0 0 0 42)

  17. The monitor I am using is an older Magnavox VGA display, but I know it can
  18. display at least 800x600 in 256 colors with the current card.  However, the
  19. manual for the monitor is boxed up somewhere in California and I am in Chicago
  20. (not good).

  22. I am gussing that from this point, I want to place the above clock values into
  23. Xconfig on the "Clocks" line.  The problem I seem to be faced with is the
  24. horizontal and vertical timings for my monitor.
