- I got startx to run and give me information about the video card. The message
- reported to me was:
-
- VGA256: et3000 (mem 512k clocks: 25 28 48 41 0 0 0 42)
-
- The monitor I am using is an older Magnavox VGA display, but I know it can
- display at least 800x600 in 256 colors with the current card. However, the
- manual for the monitor is boxed up somewhere in California and I am in Chicago
- (not good).
-
- I am gussing that from this point, I want to place the above clock values into
- Xconfig on the "Clocks" line. The problem I seem to be faced with is the
- horizontal and vertical timings for my monitor.
-
- Any ideas?
