  46. On my friend's 486 50 Mhz, with Adaptec 1542, we got a similar problem
  47. when we attempted booting using the 97.1 boot/root floppy images from tsx-11.  
  48. The boot from the 5 1/4 " floppy A: never got to the "insert root floppy" point;
  49. we got rolling screens full of the error message from line 305 of aha1542.c
  50.

  53. and had to reboot.  At the same time, we could smell something getting hot
  54. (coincidence ??), so we stopped trying.  Under NT and Windows, his machine
  55. continued to work fine.

  57. The same disks work fine with my 386 33Mhz and IDE drive.  I also 
  58. re-downloaded the boot image and compared to the one we used; identical.

  60. Help!!!
