- I've heard part of that story too. But I heard it it was a case of the
- professor deciding several years after it had been released that
- he didn't want it circulated because people would confuse it with
- the real thing. If I find my copy, I can verify if the initial release
- was public domain.

- My understanding is once software is released to public domain, there
- is no mechanism for recalling it, besides appealing to the public's
- better nature. Net lawyers can report on this to us.
