- I remember hearing something about this and I also
- recall the author of Matlab making it very clear that this was
- not meant as a release and as I recall NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN. It leaked
- out from copies he had distributed to other professors. He
- gave the impression that he didn't think it was very robust
- and he had *not* given permission for its redistribution so be
- careful if you are redistributing it.

- The detail of this are fuzzy, but I am pretty sure the
- guy wasn't real happy with the perception that there was a public
- domain version of Matlab.
