  16. I just installed the driver for the SoundBlaster and tried some of
  17. the demos. At first things seemed to work. The 'str15' and 'str32' 
  18. programs worked with the demos. The only, esthetically non-pleasing
  19. problem I had were a couple (4-10) of 
  20.     SoundBlaster: DSP Command Timeout.
  21. messages.

  23. But then I tried to play the 'endoftheworld' demo with various programs,
  24. none of which worked. I had to kill some of them with a ^C, or they
  25. core-dumped. 
  26. But now if I try to play one of the tracks15 or tracks32 demos I get 
  27. the following message:

  29.     SoundBlaster: DSP Command Timeout.
  30.     SoundBlaster: DSP Command Timeout.
  31.     SoundBlaster: IRQ7 already in use
  32.     /dev/dsp: Device or resource busy
  33.  
  34. So, can anyone shed some light on this? What does the 'DSP Command Timeout'
  35. messages mean? Should I see them under normal operation? And why are the
  36. IRQ and device not cleared?
