- Hello *,
-
- While trying to get X to run I get the following: Startx goes fine,
- it starts xinit ok (arguments fine), X (linked to X386) starts...
- screen is blanked, and immediately it exits with essentially the
- message: "X386: No screens found"
-
- I have made IMHO two good entries in Xconfig ModeDB using the extensive
- info for the monitor, and clock.exe, and elaborate but immaculate
- calculations.
-
- My setup: 386/33, 4MB RAM, 4MB swapfile, Oak Technologies OTI-067-B
- graphics card with 512 kB mem, said to run 1024x786 well, with clock
- 25 28 45 65, and a EMC monochrome superVGA monitor with 31 and 35 (k?)Hz
- hor. freq, and 40-85 (kM?)Hz vert. frequency.
-
- The Question: What is wrong: my Xconfig? the entries there? the other
- setup stuff? a screen device missing or so? my monitor? my graphics
- card (I saw a reference to OAK somewhere to be fine)? My memory shortage?
-
- Any pointers, hints, advice will be much appreciated.
- Met vriendelijke groeten, Wim `Blue Baron' van Dorst
