  18. As the original poster about make, let me say that a version of make
  19. recompiled under 97-pl2 no longer shows this or any other problems
  20. that I know of.  I've had a number of glitches that went away
  21. after recompiling; therefore I suspect changes in libraries and/or
  22. system calls.
