  12. Note: you don't want to use compression on (1) swap partitions, and
  13. (2) R/O filesystems.  For those who have never worked on filesystems
  14. before.

  16. I don't understand all the traffic about something that wouldn't be
  17. feasible, anyway.  Compression on a regular filesystem should work
  18. great, with only a small decrease in speed. Compression on anything
  19. else (like a swap partition) just shows your ignorance.  Sure, it would
  20. work, but it would require a *lot* of changes to the kernel.
