I am considering an upgrade to kernel 0.97. I currently have 0.96a as my
kernel and gcc2.1.1(I think). Now, I have kept up to date with news and have
read things regarding the upgrade to 0.97 and I understand that it can only
be compiled with gcc2.2.2 compiler.
That's fine if you have gcc2.2.2 but if you don't, you have to get it as well. Now, I read the readme files and it says somewhere very near the top that
to use gcc2.2.2, you must have kernel 0.96c or higher. Hmm, does this mean:
I have to upgrade to 0.96c first before upgrading to 0.97???
I guess I could do it but it seems absurd that I have to upgrade to 0.96c just
to upgrade to 0.97...
Anyway to get around this bootstrap problem??
Jae.
