  15.     I am considering an upgrade to kernel 0.97. I currently have 0.96a as my
  16. kernel and gcc2.1.1(I think). Now, I have kept up to date with news and have
  17. read things regarding the upgrade to 0.97 and I understand that it can only
  18. be compiled with gcc2.2.2 compiler. 
  19.     That's fine if you have gcc2.2.2 but if you don't, you have to get it as well. Now, I read the readme files and it says somewhere very near the top that
  20. to use gcc2.2.2, you must have kernel 0.96c or higher. Hmm, does this mean:

  22. I have to upgrade to 0.96c first before upgrading to 0.97???

  24. I guess I could do it but it seems absurd that I have to upgrade to 0.96c just
  25. to upgrade to 0.97...

  27. Anyway to get around this bootstrap problem??
