- I just bought a *real inexpensive* ET4000 based board. after a bit of initial
- messing about with Xconfig, X came up fine in 640x484 mode. "Great" I thought,
- so now for better res... I ran CLOCK.EXE and it consistantly reports 4 values:
-
- 25 28 33 and 36
-
- hmmm.. where are the higher frequency clocks? So I commented out the
- "clocks" line in Xconfig and did a startx 2>startx.log ... X386 reports
- sixteen clock values!

- 25 28 33 36 40 45 32 38 51 57 66 73 80 90 63 76

- I have a MAG14 monitor wich is not in the list but says it supports
- non interlaced 1024x768. There is a timeing entry in the stock config file
- for this resolution at 62Mhz ...so I changed the 62 to a 63 and tried it,
- It works. There is more flicker than I am used to (I am used to TEXT modes)
- so that is the next step... If any one has timeings for higher refresh
- rates fot the Magic View 14 monitor, I would like to hear from them.
