- I'm glad I can finally help with something important.
- Here's how I got elm to work:
-
- cd to doc - read the documentation!!!
-
- Edit the Configure script - it barfs on the awk 'sanity check'.
- I just commented out this line or 2, around line #250.
-
- Say yes to the 'does the second field in the passwd file contain the
- user names' - default is no.
-
- The full path of pathalias data file should be /usr/lib/mail/paths.
-
- 'domains (uumail)' - change to /etc/domain.
-
- Say yes to MMDF (mailer) format - default is no.
-
- I made 'favorite shell' /usr/bin/ksh.
-
- Then I did sh Configure, and it installed.
-
- I think make was next, and then make install.
-
- Make documentation failed, so I finished it by hand.
-
- * I had to make /usr/spool/mail 777 for elm to work properly.
-
- All in all, the Configure script is probably one of the best I've ever seen.
- It took about a half hour to install.
-
- Hope it works for you :-).
