  11. as a first time user of Coherent (4.0.1) but long time user of other *nixes
  12. I am wondering why the sementics and the output of some commands have been
  13. changed. Example: head -n usually gives the first n lines of a file, in
  14. Coherent the first N-n (N = total lines). This may seem rational
  15. (considering the extra +n option), but for a user who wants to use the same
  16. shell scripts on various systems this is *very* disturbing.
  17. Similar considerations hold for date, ps, df, and probably many others.
  18. awk, too, behaves unexpectedly: 2/4 gives 0, 2/4.0 gives 0.5; this might be
  19. a nice fearure, but again, portability is ruined.
