- as a first time user of Coherent (4.0.1) but long time user of other *nixes
- I am wondering why the sementics and the output of some commands have been
- changed. Example: head -n usually gives the first n lines of a file, in
- Coherent the first N-n (N = total lines). This may seem rational
- (considering the extra +n option), but for a user who wants to use the same
- shell scripts on various systems this is *very* disturbing.
- Similar considerations hold for date, ps, df, and probably many others.
- awk, too, behaves unexpectedly: 2/4 gives 0, 2/4.0 gives 0.5; this might be
- a nice fearure, but again, portability is ruined.
