- C'mon, guys. Surely you've read in numerous forums the reason we go to
- these cities.
-
- (1) We need rooms that vary in size from 20-1500 persons. 2-3 of the
- latter, a dozen or so of the former and a bunch in the 100-300 size range.
-
- (2) We need to feed 5-7000 people in 2 hours for lunch and breakfast.
-
- (3) We need hotel space that we can bus people to/from the convention
- center with less than 15 min lag time. (were you in Dallas? 45 min rides
- were the norm...)
-
-
- These are the *major* constraints. Tell me which ones you'll give up and
- we can bring DECUS to some other cities.
-
- And, if you look around and are a bit creative, hotels are *not* that
- expensive. I have been attending on my own $$ lately, sharing a 2-brm
- suite with 3 other peoploe typically drops you into the $30/nite range
- rather than the $60-100 range....
