- My local DEC representative came and installed some FPU-checking
- program on our VAX 4000-200, that supposedly checks the floating
- point chip for the above mentioned problem. When I asked for an
- upgrade she said 'No need to, since FPU_TEST hasn't discovered any
- errors'.
- Am I right to believe that no matter what, I can get my CPU board
- (my VAX's CPU not my brain! :-)) upgraded, even if FPU_TEST hasn't
- so far discovered this problem? Should I "demand" for the CPU
- upgrade???
-
- There is another problem with the VAX 4000 model 200 and VMS 5.4-2
- Some of the SYSLOAxxx.EXE files are buggy and the result is performance
- slowdown. The problem is fixed in VMS 5.4-3. I managed to get a free
- upgrade to it before the warranty period expired. VAX 4000-200 owners
- make a note of this problem and upgrade to a higher VMS version.
-
- Thank you in advance for any help,
