- I hope this reaches Jaye at least via news or mush-users, because I've
- never managed to get mail through to cs.montana.edu when I tried to
- reply personally to his inquiries about Z-Mail.

- First of all, thanks for the plug. :-)
-
- } With the caveat below...
- }
- } One BIG gripe. (Had to be one didn't there... :)
- }
- } Licensing is seriously hosed for a person that wants to buy mush for
- } themselves. It's locked to a machine, I think it's the IP address or
- } the ethernet address or something stupid like that.
- }
- } If you're a single user, wanting to spring for a mail package that you can
- } run on multiple machines, then zmail is not for you, it sucks rocks.
- } I wanted to be able to run it on 2 different machines. Not at the same time,
- } but even if I did, I'm the only one using it. I wanted to install it into
- } my account, but it can't be done. It has to be in /usr/lib/Zmail or
- } somesuch.
-
- Z-Mail 2.1 relieves even this gripe, by providing a network license
- server option. With the network server, you can install Z-Mail anywhere
- you like -- just tell the server where to look for the license file.
- It requires no special permissions to run the server daemon (though it's
- nice to make entries for it in /etc/services and inetd.conf, it's not
- required). Further, with the network server, you can buy a one-user
- license for Z-Mail and use it from any machine on the network.
-
- Send mail to info@z-code.com for pricing and other details.
