- I've been looking at Videovision also (see post in .multimedia) but
- have heard that its resolution is 24 frames per second. Q. Is Radius
- trying to establish a consumer standard resolution of 24 fps or are they
- going to do like the Video Spiget thing and have two versions, the
- professional board (at a different resolution) costing more money?
- Also, I thought the standard was 30fps, 30-drop, or 29 fps; where
- does 24fps come from? I would also like to see the incorporation of
- Vertical Integrated Time Code (read and write) but then again maybe
- they've stuck a different standard there too. Oh well, hopefully
- someone at Radius will hire a consultant or two to help them create
- a product that can work cohesively with existing project studios.
- Synchronization seems to be an ongoing exponential problem when
- cutting and pasteing and 24 fps doesn't help much once the rest of
- the industry decides on an algorhythm to fix the current problems with
- the current standards. Additionally, my oppinion is based on what
- I've heard which is unfortunate because in the literature I have on
- the product there is no mention of resolution. It would be nice to see
- more specifications and less copywriter comparison stuff so that we'd
- have a better view of things. After all, if its in writing it must be true,
- especially with all the pretty color pictures and all.
