  12. Finally here it is: the new and updated version of the

  14.     Perl Reference Guide

  16. has been sent to the moderator of comp.sources.misc and will appear in
  17. this newsgroup soon.

  19. This version has been updated to match Perl 4.035.

  21. As usual, two kits are posted: a ready-to-print PostScript version and
  22. a LaTeX source kit.

  26. The Perl Reference Guide is a typeset quick reference guide to
  27. Larry Wall's Perl program.
  28.  
  29. It contains a concise description of all Perl 4.0 statements,
  30. functions, variables and lots of other useful information. 
  31. The Guide is based on Perl version 4.0, patchlevel 35.
  32.  
  33. The purpose of the Reference Guide is to aid in the use of Perl, to
  34. look up the syntax of specific functions, statements and the meaning
  35. of built-in variables.  It is *NOT* a self-contained user guide -
  36. basic knowledge of the Perl language is required. It is *NOT* complete
  37. - some of the more obscure variants of perl constructs have been left
  38. out.  But all functions and variables are mentioned in at least one
  39. way they can be used.
