  12. I'm new to perl, so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question...

  14. I want to read the last line of /etc/passwd and grep out the uid number. 
  15. I can't seem to do this. How can I do this easy? I tryed open, seek and split.
  16. But it does not seem to work the way I read it in the man page. Can a perl
