- We did this in our stereo X Windows implementation. If done properly,
- the flicker is not very bad. We felt that there was no contest in
- deciding between slightly more flicker and regaining the full frame
- resolution. Although, since we were able to get a patent on the
- technique, maybe we did it differently than it has been done before.
- We use our stereo X Windows for the display of stereo satellite images
- and digitized airphotos, with stereo digital map information overlayed.
- You can digitize and manipulate the overlayed map information using
- a stereo cursor, so you're looking at the monitor fairly intently, and
- the flicker doesn't seem too bad. Perhaps it might get tiring after
- several hours of intensive work.
