- Not sure if this is the right group, but it's the best I could think of.
-
- Is there a widely used/accepted file format for storing data on maps? At the
- moment, I'm mostly interested in storing height information. I've a homemade
- 3D viewer, and I "converted" a map for this by simply reading heights at grid
- intersections, from one particular map, this has given me 231 xyz-tuples.
-
- What I'd also be interested in is a viewer for such data files (for PC or
- else for X Windows), and also some sample data files (or an anon ftp site
- where they can be found).
