- I understand the frustration expressed here, but the recession has hit
- professional societies and conferences very heavily, and it just isn't
- going to happen this year...

- It's very gratifying to hear this amount of interest in the SIGGRAPH '92 disk,
- but we really believe the pilot project isn't yet functional enough to merit
- this wide distribution. However, we are doing our best to build on '92 and
- create some really great electronic publications (probably CD-ROM, but we're
- not restricting ourselves to this medium) for SIGGRAPH '93. And we'll have
- the time to plan for this and make them much more widely available than the
- '92 ones were.
-
- Downside: cost, of course. I plan to post a note soon discussing member
- benefits and costs for SIGGRAPH, and hope to have lots of comments back from
- people in this forum. The key, though, is that we get what we pay for, and
- SIGGRAPH doesn't know how many people want what benefits enough to support
- their creation. Please help us learn what really is wanted. End of
- commercial.

- Different problem -- the main difficulty is copyright. However, we are looking
- hard at this one too, and we appreciate this indication that you find course
- notes valuable enough to buy and archive. Duly noted.
