  13. I want to quote from an email message when responding to it (using GNU
  14. Emacs and Unix), so I include the current message in my reply buffer
  15. with ~f and edit it with emacs (~e).  I want to add "> " to the
  16. beginning of every line in the quoted message but I can't figure out
  17. what emacs function does this.

  19. I found the fill-prefix variable and set-fill-prefix function, but no
  20. function to actually place the value in the variable at the beginning
  21. of every line in the current paragraph.
