  13.                        half day workshop on
  14.           "An Agenda for Education in Scientific Visualization"
  15.                 to take place at Visualization '92, 
  16.                  October 20 (Tuesday afternoon), 
  17.                           Boston, MA.

  19. The purpose of this workshop is to develop guidelines for courses in
  20. "Scientific Visualization". Together with a small group of workshop
  21. participants I would like to draw from first experiences of teaching 
  22. visualization courses. Questions we hope to answer are:
  23.  - what should be considered "core topics" in a visualization course?
  24.  - what are essential reference articles for these topics?
  25.  - is there public domain software and data that should be recommended
  26.    to instructors?
  27.  - can we create/collect data for classic visualization models?
  28.  
  29. Participation in this workshop is limited to individuals with actual 
  30. experience in teaching a visualization course. If you intend to be
  31. an active participant, please submit a short statement of interest
  32. (1 paragraph), outline of the visualization course(s) taught, your
  33. name, preferred email address and affiliation to:
