- An old version of Microsoft Word might do the trick (v3 or 4). It was
- small enough then to run on twin floppy machines and it edits to disk
- so isn't limited to free memory for document size. (We used to run v2
- of Word on Apricots with 256KB, it was slow but not impossible.)

- An old version of WordStar is another possibility. That worked for
- years on machines of very modest capacity.

- Try going to an auction of defunct office equipment. It's amazing what
- you can pick up in the way of computers and software if you know a bit
- about it.
