- I am currently using a 132x30 font in Linux (a Unix clone), and have
- become quite used to having the larger screen (in both dimensions). I
- would like to continue to have the 132 columns available for directory
- listings and such, but I would prefer to be in 80 column mode when I
- post using vi. Is there a setting (as there is for rows) that would
- cause vi to ignore the extra columns when it is being used, and create
- more readable articles for people with only 80 columns? Of course, I
- could make an alias "stty columns 80; vi $1; stty columns 132", but that
- seems kinda cheesy. Any suggestions?
- Please email me, as I don't ordinarily read this group (too much
- volume!!)
- Thanks!
