  21. The docs list 2 ways. I don't have them with me here, but the
  22. solution is there. One way is a commandline switch (i think it's
  23. -2, so you type vile -2 and it comes in 25 line mode) the other
  24. way is a set command in the vile.rc file. It is also documented.

  30. What i have found so far:

  33. Calvin 2.1 - nice and fast, but doesn't have :s (search/replace)
  34. command.

  36. Oak Hill - nice and with good extensions, but $60 (hahaha)
  37. sharewhare.

  39. Vile - Very interesting, but still unstable (memory problems,
  40. etc.) but you might like this one. It's basically an emacs that
  41. responds to vi commands, cute.

  43. Elvis 1.6 - this is 99.9% vi, all commands in all modes, plus
  44. many very good extensions. The newest version has a few unixoid
  45. quirks that i don't like (you have to have some specific
  46. directories, have to set some environment variables, etc.), but
  47. what the heck, it's free, and it's so good that these things
  48. become tollerable.
