  12. We have a unidirectional radio link with voice grade bandwidth.  We want
  13. to run data over this link generated from a PC's rs232 port.

  15. Ideally, I'd like to be able to buy a couple of off-the-shelf modems
  16. and use them to modulate and encode the data.  I guess error
  17. correction is impossible, since we've only got one-way communication.

  19. What's the fastest off-the-shelf modem I could use for this application?
  20. What encodings are suitable for unidirectional links?
