  13. What I really do not understand is why is it that I have to pay 
  14. information that should be public knowledge?  Why do I have
  15. to pay over 200 dollars to a publishing company for documentation
  16. of international standards?  Can someone explain that to me?
  17. I know Hayes guys read this. What horrible thing happened when 
  18. they let the AT set public?  I don't think it killed them?
  19. Why can't I have the DCX format for free? Oh.. I forgot, I am not
  20. one of the "elite" top 100 big businesses.  I am just a freakin'
  21. shareware author. I might write a program faster than the big
  22. pigs, and that would be such a horrible thing!  I might steal
  23. oh, 30 to 40 bucks in donations!  Uhhhhhh!!! Scares me!!!
  24. I have to order chips from the manufacturers to get information
  25. on the fax protocols, like class 1.  Why?  Why do I have to buy
  26. 100 Rockwell, or Intel chips just so I can read the dang docs on 
  27. it?

  29.               I   WANT THE T.4 DOCS, AND I WANT IT FREE!

  31. I pay 26% taxes to the government.  If the CCITT, and ANSI are not
  32. part of the gov, then fine.  If this is a private hoopla, fine.
  33. But I don't think so.  So. I WANT MY DOCS NOW!
  34. $200! Thats .. 800 cups of coffee, or 67 medium size pizzas from 
  35. Little Cesars, or 400 Snickers.  or even better thats 2 four meg
  36. SIMMs!  I don't have that kind of money laying around!

  40. Did anyone of you looked at the Class 1 docs?  What costs 200 bucks
  41. in that?  It is sucks!  Whoever came up with the those commands
  42. must have had a lobodomy.  I swear, my dog (who is dead :( ) could
  43. do a better job making a new standard.  
  44. What happened to "Gosh, lets discuss this with people who will 
  45. actually _HAVE_ to use it."  Nahh.  That would be too easy.

  47. I am a very business oriented person, and believe in intellectual
  48. rights, in many ways.  But this is like holding a patent on
  49. circles, so noone can make a wheel!

  51. And guess what!  Class 2 will come out, and it will be just as 
  52. bad as Class 1.  I wish there would be a way to come up 
  53. with a new set that we could use and spread it free. So class 1&2
  54. would DIE.

  56. I WANT MY DOCS FREE!  I want it to be public!  I want my neighbor
  57. to be able to write programs for class 1&2 fax boards (no worry
  58. though, he is a carpenter), without having to shell out _ANY_ 
  59. money.
