- I just bought an external Forval modem for $275 + $12 shipping. The internal
- version is the same price, except it is $6 for shipping. This modem has
- 14.4Kbps, V.everything, MNP2-5 and LAPM. The internal modems have the TURBO
- board implemented, which makes for data integrity up to 115KB/s (has 32
- byte buffer). Here are some features:
- 5 year warranty
- Hayes AT command protocols 100%
- FAX upgade FREE later this year
- 19.2Kbps upgrade for $100 within 90 days (Forval unique protocol)
- V.fast upgradeable when standard is finalized.
- All upgrades done by phone via BBS download of new firmware!
- (don't have to install a new EPROM)
- External has LCD display panel with menu system to set it up manually
-
- This modem works great. It has gotten rave reviews in the RIME communications
- conference.
