  12. I just bought an external Forval modem for $275 + $12 shipping.  The internal
  13. version is the same price, except it is $6 for shipping.  This modem has
  14. 14.4Kbps, V.everything, MNP2-5 and LAPM. The internal modems have the TURBO
  15. board implemented, which makes for data integrity up to 115KB/s (has 32
  16. byte buffer).  Here are some features:
  17.     5 year warranty
  18.     Hayes AT command protocols 100%
  19.     FAX upgade FREE later this year
  20.     19.2Kbps upgrade for $100 within 90 days (Forval unique protocol)
  21.     V.fast upgradeable when standard is finalized.
  22.     All upgrades done by phone via BBS download of new firmware!
  23.         (don't have to install a new EPROM)
  24.     External has LCD display panel with menu system to set it up manually
