  12. I hope that Macintosh software will eventually have modem settings
  13. and drivers that say "Digicom Scout Plus", but until that happens I need
  14. to know which modem settings and/or drivers I should choose.
  15. Is there a popular name-brand Mac modem manufacturer that I could
  16. pick in a long list of options that would be the closest thing to a Scout Plus?

  18. Or do I need to ONLY find out what the best initialization string is?

  20. For example, programs like Microphone and FAXstf have many specific
  21. modem settings to choose but I lack the info needed to make the *best*
  22. choice. Maybe my question should be, "Just how different is one v.32bis
  23. modem from the other that it would make much difference to arbitrarily
  24. choose one (whenever there is not a generic choice)???"
  25. Things are working fine for me, but I suspect that more insight will
  26. make things improve, that there are good, better, and best choices?
