- I hope that Macintosh software will eventually have modem settings
- and drivers that say "Digicom Scout Plus", but until that happens I need
- to know which modem settings and/or drivers I should choose.
- Is there a popular name-brand Mac modem manufacturer that I could
- pick in a long list of options that would be the closest thing to a Scout Plus?
-
- Or do I need to ONLY find out what the best initialization string is?
-
- For example, programs like Microphone and FAXstf have many specific
- modem settings to choose but I lack the info needed to make the *best*
- choice. Maybe my question should be, "Just how different is one v.32bis
- modem from the other that it would make much difference to arbitrarily
- choose one (whenever there is not a generic choice)???"
- Things are working fine for me, but I suspect that more insight will
- make things improve, that there are good, better, and best choices?
-
- thanks
