- Possibly this is a problem of the 'other' modem.
- Scenario:
- Both modems have the escape enabled, and equal to '+++', which is default.
- The 'other' modem is connected to a unix box, or something else that echoes
- characters you type to it.
- Now, you wait the guard time, type '+++' and wait the guard time again. The
- escape puts your modem in command mode. But:
- The escape chars have also been transmitted to the unix box, which has echoed
- them to it's modem. Which also goes into command mode.
- Your 'ato' gets your modem back online, but how about the other one?
-
- You can test this by setting a register (S2?) to something else (45 for example
- which is '-'), and escaping with '---'.
-
- (In case someone wonders how I came to this scenario, you don't know our
- university computing center. They had escape enabled and equal to +++ on
- their dialin modems. Exactly the scenario above appeared)
