- NOOOOOOO! A DELNI is not a repeater in any stretch. It is just a box that
- allows you to connected eight devices in close proximity without having to use
- a cable. A DELNI forwards SQE to its connected devices in global mode,
- provides SQE-Test and forwards SQE to its connected devices in local mode.
- A DELNI does not perform any of the tasks normally attributed to a repeater.
- A repeater:
- Amplifies the signal,
- Retimes the signal, and ensures that symmetry is within tolerance
- Sends it out on the next segment with a new preamble,
- Provides a Jam if a collision is seen on its one of its segments.
-
- A DELNI can do none of these things.
