  21. The latter is also known as an 24/96E, revision 967-02.  There is a
  22. 24/96E, revision 967-00, which doesn't support Class 2 FAX.  Everex
  23. thought they could drop Class 2 from the 24/96D's successor, but
  24. later added it back.  Be careful in ordering this beast!

  34. The Netfax 3.2.1 software is somewhat half-baked.  It failed to work
  35. with our 24/96E until I made a few changes (such as interpreting
  36. "OK" as a "CONNECT" message in some circumstances).  I still have
  37. a problem with a phantom "failed page" on incoming FAXes--all the
  38. pages get received, but then Netfax expects another one when the
  39. remote end hangs up.  I expect this will be a pretty easy fix, but
  40. I've been busy doing other things.

  44. Things are still pretty early, but so far I've yet to see incompatability.
  45. I've tried it with several kinds of FAX machines, and it has worked fine.

  47. This modem seems pricey for a 2400bps-plus-FAX modem, but I couldn't
  48. find any others which anyone claimed worked reliably with Netfax.  I
  49. hope this situation changes...
