-
- IF the v.42bis is implemented in the modem, it should be pretty transparent
- in use by computer software. I.E. we tested for proper operation of hard-
- ware handshaking the other day in a cable we were unsure of, by setting an
- 2400bps v.42bis (LAP-M+BLTZ) connection. In a test transfer of around 40k,
- we achieved a transfer rate with Z-Modem of approximately 3300bps. One end
- of the connection had a locked bps rate of 9600bps, and the other 38,400bps
- for that connection.
-
- Again, use of the MNP and v.42bis will depend more upon the two modems in
- the connection than the software on either end, in nearly every case.
