- We have a lot of C code with embedded SQL (ORACLE) running on our corporate
- mainframes. We are looking into running some of these applications
- on our customer-sites on UNIX workstations. Ideally, we should be able to write
- code to run unchanged on both our corporate and customer environments.
-
- For our customer-site applications, we require a ** VERY LOW MAINTENANCE DBMS **
- since we do not expect to station one of our DBAs at every customer site (sic!).
- Could anyone out there recommend something for this? Actual experience reports would
- be invaluable.
-
- If all else fails, we may be able to settle for some File packages with a SQL
- interface (hopefully, something like ORACLE SQL) instead of a full-fledged DBMS.
- Again, any suggestions would be welcome.
-
- I'll summarize if there is enough of a response.
