  14. I just read a compiler-type book which was translated from Russian. It was
  15. very interesting. The reference is,
  16.  
  17.    Computer-Aided Design of Language Processors, V. Shangin and P. Timofeev,
  18.    CRC Press, 1992, ISBN 0-8493-7537, QA76.76.T83S53, Library of Congress
  19.    Card Number = 91-38349.

  21. which appears to be published in conjunction with MIR Publishers of
  22. Moscow.  Also, this book is part of a series by CRC press called, Advances
  23. in Science and Technology in the USSR.

  25. This sparked several questions,
  26.    (1) Does a book review exist for this?
  27.    (2) This book appears to have been developed for/from a course.
  28.        Can someone e-mail me what books are used in Russian compilers
  29.        courses (i.e. University, book, course title, Professor,
  30.        description).
  31.    (3) Also, I am interested in the more general question, of
  32.        what compiler books are used in European Universities, such
  33.        as England, France, Germany, Poland, etc.
  34.    (4) Did the merging of East German Universities with West Germany,
  35.        cause them to redo their compiler courses? What books did they
  36.        previously use before the merge? Russian?
