- I am just a beginner at BBS access, the various networks, etc.
- And I may not even be posting this on the right Newsgroup.
-
- Anyway, I am wondering....I have several friends a ways out in the
-
- But it is still too expensive for them....long distance fees, etc.
-
- Has there been developed yet....or in process....a bbs system run
- out of say....a rural homestead with the normal computer setup but
- plugged into a ham radio system which I believe is specifically
- called "Packet Radio"....so that bbs members can converse just
- as we do but via radio waves instead of phone lines.
-
- Obviously such a system would be for public free access networks
- such as cleveland free net or Internet, etc. not for those which
- require a subscription and time charge such as Compuserve, etc.
-
- Any information on this would be appreciated.
