- And a lot of the delay happens on the UUCP side. A lot of the gateways
- around are two or more hops off of the internet. I have heard stories of
- a single day transit from CA to the East coast and back, while in the same
- week a message I sent took about five days. As I was checking out the
- header, I noticed that it sat at a UUCP site for a few days. Probably
- a link went down or something.
-
- I am going to be testing the WWCP gateway software out here in the SF
- Bay Area as soon as I get a node number from WWIVnet. As of now though,
- it seems like the quickest gateway for this area (CA) is the Alaska site.
