  13. -> (like CIS or Delphi) rather than the "multi-line" bbs's most persons
  14. -> have in mind (dinky little six or twelve line systems, as compared to
  15. -> hundreds of lines).. any guesses as to the system hardware/software
  16. -> they use?  I'd lay you some very good odds they're not running on a
  17. -> stinkin' PC with MS-DOS!  (And that would be highly unfair, at least
  18. -> insofar as Delphi is concerned, as I already know

  22. Gee, Willard, I thought we were talking about *BBS's*.  I
  23. guess both you and Larry should sit down and read a good BBS list.
  24. Neither of you has apparently had any contact with DOS BBS's in
  25. 3 or 4 years.  Try the USBBS list.  Count the number of multi-line
  26. BBS's, compare it to Nixpub, and get back to us.

  29. -> of so-called "BBS standards?"  Just what aspects of bbs
  30. -> operation/implementation would we need to have standardized?  What
  31. -> would be the benefits and drawbacks to accepting those standards?
  32. -> What hidden agendas are at work?  Is there a conspiracy?  Can it
  33. -> possibly get more interesting?

  35. It's always interesting how everyone views the world through their
  36. own little window.  Internet is just another somewhat larger window.
  37. RFC "standards" have about as much chance of prevailing as Fidonet
  38. .msg format.

  40. Novell (MHS/GME), Lotus (VIM) and Microsoft (MAPI) will determine
  41. the future of electronic mail standards.  Gateways and X.400 will
  42. glue it all together.
