  19. I have recently placed an online, illustrated, hypertext version 
  20. of the TrueType specifications available for anonymous ftp on 
  21. ftp.uu.net in the /vendor/microsoft/TrueType-Info directory.  
  22. This is one file (tt-help.zip) is in Windows help format, which
  23. means that if you have Windows 3.1, you already have everything 
  24. needed to use this.  It comes complete with colored code words 
  25. that enables you to quickly jump from one section to another, 
  26. in addition to a complete alphabetic jump-listing of each 
  27. TrueType instruction.  This is the same 400 page book which is
  28. also available in Word for Windows format in that same directory.

  30. In fact, you can even make this hypertext version into an icon on 
  31. your desktop so that you can just double click on it to launch the 
  32. program.  Look in the "readme.txt" file in that directory for 
  33. instructions on how to accomplish this.  There is also a pkunzip.exe
  34. program in that directory in case you are having problems in 
  35. uncompressing these files.

  37. The same online reference is also available on Compuserve in for 
  38. those people who don't have access to ftp on the Internet.  It is
  39. located in the Windows SDK section ("GO WINSDK"), under library #9 
  40. (GDI).  It will also be appearing in a future Microsoft Developer's
  41. Network CD-ROM disk.
