  19. Well, folks, after chasing it for nearly three years, I have finally found
  20. a PD version of the TeX typesetting program ported to OS9/68000. It is the
  21. port done by John Wainwright. I found it on a local BBS back home over
  22. the summer. I had to download it at 1200 baud, but now it's available via
  23. anonymous FTP from hermit.cs.wisc.edu, presently in the /incoming/OSKTeX
  24. directory. It will likely be moved to another directory as soon as Mr.
  25. Pruyne  finds time to update his maintenance.
  26.    Included are the source code to virtex and initex, as well as executables
  27. of each, and source code to dvi2tty, a dumb-terminal dvi previewer. I also
  28. included a simple C program called 'tex', which does the command line
  29. substitution of 'tex foo.tex' for the more cumbersome 'virtex &plain foo.tex'
  30. Now all that is needed is a printer driver to take the dvi files and print
  31. them out, as well as the rastered font files required for that printer driver.
  32. Let me know if you have source for a dvi driver of some sort. I'm looking
  33. for a dvi-to-epson driver myself, though I'm sure others are interested in the
  34. drivers and fonts for their respective printers as well.
