- I've taken the liberty of modifying Stan's latest version of mini-inews
- (nntpclient) version 1.6 to add a few additional capabilities.
-
- 1. Support for nn. Installing this version of mini-inews
- for nn is simple, because it now uses the Configure script
- and sets things up correctly whether for nn or not.
-
- 2. Maintain the HIDDENNET capability... seems a few people liked
- it.
-
- 3. mini-inews will now add the Date, Lines and Message-ID header
- lines if absent. This means that MINI_INEWS_HEADERS is
- no longer required for NNTP-based nn. Addition of Lines
- is a compile-time option (which is enabled by running
- Configure).
-
- 4. mini-inews will also be able to generate "traditional"
- Message-ID header lines: Message-ID: <142@host.domain>
- where the number is incremented for each post. If you
- don't want this, then mini-inews will generate ID's
- in the form of <user.date@host.domain>
-
- This latest version is available via anon-ftp on jagubox.gsfc.nasa.gov
- under /pub/inews16j1.tar.Z
