- I am a beginning Ph.D. student in search of a research topic in computer
- architecture (CA). What are some largely unexplored areas in CA that
- have lots of possibilities? I was thinking of looking into the design
- of instruction sets: what combination of instructions is the "optimum"
- set for a particular application - and how does the choice of application
- affect the final result?
-
- If anyone has some starting references, I'd appreciate the help as I
- search through the university library...
-
- Also, I haven't really decided on instruction set design, so any ideas
- as I said above, would be really appreciated.
-
- Email or post, and many thanks!

- PS Does it get any easier after the topic is finally found???? :-)
