  19. On statlib (ftp to statlib@lib.stat.cmu.edu:S/) there are two introductory
  20. guides that cover some aspects of the new New S stuff: One by Brian Ripley
  21. (sguide) that emphasises doing statistics with S-PLUS and one by Venables
  22. and Smith that looks more at nuts and bolts stuff (splusnotes).  Both are
  23. more-or-less S-PLUS specific.

  25. However there is really no substitute for the official documentation.
