  32. Both yes and no! The configuration is so, that we run our jobs on a
  33. HP9000/845 with rather limited mag.disk space. The epoch is accessed
  34. via NFS. The epoch itself has 2 mag.disks and a jukebox, which mount
  35. the optical disks. It is therefore difficult to measure where a given
  36. delay has its source.
  37. The local rule of thumb are:
  38.  Batch-processing: You will never notice the difference.
  39.  Interactive: Move your files to the local harddisk.
