  14. Hello folks,
  15.    First of all, I want to say that I think I should have replaced SAS 6.06
  16. with 6.07 as the default version long ago.  This was brought home sharply
  17. when, under MVS, a job of mine ran out of CPU time even though I had
  18. specified three HOURS max on the JOB card.  I re-ran it under 6.07 and
  19. it took less than 15 MINUTES of CPU.  This is a very i/o intensive job, but
  20. obviously, SAS has to think about its i/o. :-)
  21.    OK, so now I'm going to make the move to the production version.  Two
  22. (minor?) details.  I have applied the zap to SAS to correct for the
  23. problem of evaluating complex boolean expressions.  Does any one have any
  24. code lying around which I can use to test this (i.e., one which breaks w/o
  25. the zap, but not with it)?
  26.    Number two, I know that there is a problem with the SAS datasets if
  27. you want to use 6.06 and 6.07 concurrently, but is there any problem at
  28. all (for the naive user) in discarding 6.06 and replacing it with 6.07
  29. (under MVS or CMS)?
