- Hello folks,
- First of all, I want to say that I think I should have replaced SAS 6.06
- with 6.07 as the default version long ago. This was brought home sharply
- when, under MVS, a job of mine ran out of CPU time even though I had
- specified three HOURS max on the JOB card. I re-ran it under 6.07 and
- it took less than 15 MINUTES of CPU. This is a very i/o intensive job, but
- obviously, SAS has to think about its i/o. :-)
- OK, so now I'm going to make the move to the production version. Two
- (minor?) details. I have applied the zap to SAS to correct for the
- problem of evaluating complex boolean expressions. Does any one have any
- code lying around which I can use to test this (i.e., one which breaks w/o
- the zap, but not with it)?
- Number two, I know that there is a problem with the SAS datasets if
- you want to use 6.06 and 6.07 concurrently, but is there any problem at
- all (for the naive user) in discarding 6.06 and replacing it with 6.07
- (under MVS or CMS)?
-
- Thanks,
-
